Terms & Conditions

When you place an order, you are making an offer to buy a made-to-order dress from us. Your order is confirmed once we have accepted it and received your deposit. We may decline or cancel an order — for example, if an item is unavailable or the details cannot be met — in which case any amount paid is refunded.

All prices are in South African Rand (ZAR) and include any applicable charges shown at checkout. Orders are secured with an 80% deposit, and the remaining balance is payable before delivery or collection.

Card payments are processed securely by our payment provider. We never see or store your card details.

Each dress is made specifically for you based on the size, colour and measurements you provide. Please supply these carefully — because a made-to-order piece cannot be resold, our Returns & Refund Policy explains what can and cannot be returned.

Production and delivery timeframes are set out in our Delivery Policy. Timeframes are estimates; while we work hard to meet them, they are not guaranteed and may be affected by couriers or circumstances beyond our control.

Because every dress is made to order and cannot be resold, custom and made-to-measure items are exempt from the 7-day cooling-off period that would otherwise apply to online sales under the Consumer Protection Act. This does not take away your rights in respect of goods that are defective, faulty or not as described — those rights remain, and how we handle them is set out in our Returns & Refund Policy.

If you create an account, keep your login details safe — you are responsible for activity under your account. You can update your details or delete your account at any time from your profile page, or via Delete my account.

When you message us or upload images (for example in BarbieChat), please keep it lawful and respectful. Do not send content that is abusive, unlawful, infringes someone else's rights, or that you do not have permission to share. We may remove content or suspend an account that breaks these rules.

The content on this site — our name, logo, designs, product photographs and text — belongs to BlackBarbiebyTK or is used with permission, and may not be copied or reused without our consent. Anything you upload remains yours, but you give us permission to use it as needed to fulfil and support your order.

We take great care with every order. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or unforeseeable losses, and our total responsibility in connection with an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act or other South African law that cannot be limited — for example, your rights regarding defective goods.

We handle your personal information as described in our Privacy Policy, including how to stop marketing messages and how to exercise your POPIA rights.

These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa, and any dispute will be dealt with in the South African courts.
